Jewelry Factory Hackensack

At first doing business with these jewelers was a pleasant experience. They spent a lot of time helping me select the perfect setting and the perfect diamond for an engagement ring/wedding band. I assume now that they went through all this trouble only to get the sale. This company does not back their products. After about six months a small diamond fell out of the engagement ring setting due to a broken prong. I took the ring back and had the diamond replaced. After 14 months of the purchase another of the small stones fell out of the wedding band due to a broken prong. We had only been married for two months, hence my wife has only been wearing the wedding band for two months, but since the ring was actually purchased more than a year before they refused to replace the stone saying it was out of warranty. They blamed the missing stone on my wife saying she is too rough with it. My wife is a very dainty lady. However, I have spoken with many women since who are not dainty and have not had had a problem with losing stones(they did not purchase from the Jewelry Exchange.) After hours spent in the store working with suddenly rude and unhelpful salesmen as well as on the phone to their corporate headquarters the small stone was finally replaced. We were told that they would no longer fix the defective ring at their cost after this. Every salesman and everyone at their corporate headquarters are trained to blame defects on the customer. It is almost comical. I would not recommend this jeweler to anyone much less my friends and family. Caveat emptor. Buyer beware.

I went with others. Our experience with the sales staff was disappointing. At best, they started out smiling, but most didn't even do that. It appeared that we were interrupting them. They did not appear knowledgable about the pieces in the cases.

We were wearing diamonds (all of very good quality) which may have intimidated them, but one would think that once they saw what we had, they would have been anxious to add to our collections.

Buyer beware! They have a LOT of overpriced junk stones along with the low priced junk. Some of the studs were so gray and dull that even a saw blade would not have wanted them. They also had some very high quality gems in one of the cases, but the pricing was uneven. You need to know what you are doing or else consider the certified stones.
We left after about 15 minutes, having completely lost our excitement about the place. Also, Watch out for the traffic meters in Bethesda. One minute late and you owe $35.

Jewelry Factory Norristown

The Jewelry Factory in Norristown is changing their name to the "Jewelry Exchange." The store remains under the same ownership. The Jewelry Exchange is the nation's leading chain of independent jewelry stores, and operates in about 60% of the country under that name. In some cities, the company operates under the name the "Jewelry Factory" or the "Jewelry Source."

The company decided to rename the store in Norristown in order to solidify the brand name and eliminate any confusion in the marketplace. The name change takes effect on June 8, 2006.

The Jewelry Exchange is owned by Goldenwest Diamond Corporation, and has been operating for over 25 years, doing business as the "Jewelry Exchange" in Los Angeles/Tustin, Chicago/Villa Park, San Francisco/Redwood City, Boston/Sudbury, Dallas, Tampa, Seattle/Renton, Denver/Greenwood Village, and now in Philadelphia/Norristown. The company operates as the "Jewelry Factory" in Washington D.C./Bethesda, New York/Hackensack, Detroit/Livonia, and Cleveland/North Randall. In Houston, the company operates the "Jewelry Source."

"The Norristown store is one of our most important locations and will continue to provide our customers with unbeatable values, huge selections, and fun shopping experiences -- with no commissioned salesmen," according to a company spokesman. "And, of course, our tradition of providing factory-direct pricing will continue to save our consumer up to 80% on their jewelry purchases."

The Jewelry Exchange is the largest private importer of diamonds in America, and has over 30,000 loose diamonds in stock. The Jewelry Exchange was also recently named one of the top 25 jewelers in America. For more information, call (800) 441-0715 or go online at www.jewelryexchange.com.
